MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BROKEN BAY DIOCESAN JUBILEE COMMITTEE
HELD AT WAITARA ON WEDNESDAY, 6th MAY, 1998
PRESENT:
Frs. Bill Stevens (Chair), Michael Gormly, David and Maria Szeto, John
Doran, Bev. Howie, Don and Marlene Malone, Larry Czarnik, Mary McGuinness

MINUTES:
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and received.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
- Fr. Stevens advised that the Banner letter to parish priests has been held back until
after the next edition of the Diocesan Newsletter. Letters will then be faxed to school
R.E.C.s as well as Parish Priests.
- The National Jubilee conference will be held on 17th - 18th May.
Fr. Stevens will attend. He will take with him the suggestion of a Jubilee sticker for
children.
- Two Columban booklets are now available:
Come Holy Spirit- a beautifully illustrated book of prayers to
the Holy Spirit. Cost $2.00 incl. Postage.
A re-issue of the popular version of Tertio Millennio Adveniente.
Cost $5.00 plus postage
Both available from the Columban Office, Essendon. Vic.
- A reply has been received from Canberra re the Peter Kearney's Jubilee Song. Permission
is given to include it on our Web site as long as the by-line is recorded. The tape is
available from Sydney Adult Education Centre.

- It was agreed to invite each parish in the diocese to make a "patch" for a
Patchwork Quilt Diocesan Banner to be used at a Diocesan event in conjunction with the
Liturgical and Ecumenical Commission in the Cathedral at the end of 1999. This will be our
launching pad to the Year 2000. Each patch to represent something unique about the parish.
Representatives from the Diocesan Liturgical and Ecumenical Commissions to be invited to
our September, 1998 meeting to discuss the proposal with us.
- We were reminded that during this year of preparation we need to open ourselves up to
reconciliation.
The meeting closed with a prayer at 8.40 p.m. and members adjourned to
view the Jubilee web-site
